Rebounding

We have included the activity of rebounding in our yoga weight loss programs as well as the Ultimate Detox Retreat as we feel that a light rebounding session perfectly completes our holistic yogic approach to gaining more vitality and better health.

Yoga works on all levels of our being - physical, mental and emotional and so does rebounding. Light bouncing on a mini trampoline has a potential to shape the body, clear the mind, release a flood of serotonin, the "happy hormone" into the bloodstream as well as lift our spirits all at the same time. We get to access a childlike joy and a sense of carefreeness when bouncing up and down on the mini trampoline and it doesn't feel like it requires any effort.

Besides being great fun, rebounding possesses a multitude of health benefits as proven by NASA. This form of exercise has been studied extensively by NASA in their quest to find the best way to physically recover astronauts after their return to earth from space.

NASA has discovered that rebounding is 68% more effective in exercising the whole body than running. Its secret lies in the fact that it rapidly increases the g-force (from 2g to even 4g depending how fast you accelerate upward and downward) on the entire body. Every single muscle, tissue, bone and cell in the body responds to an increased gravitational weight and repeated acceleration and then deceleration which happen over and over again as you continue jumping up and down. This exercise also has very low impact on the joints, much less so than running.

Rebounding tones up the entire body from head to toe, virtually every single cell gets engaged and nudged into renewal during this exercise.
